New visual identity, new website

We are excited to share glueglue's new brand identity. An achievement that represents our evolution as a company and as a group of people.

Seeing from the outside is impossible

It is very complex to collectively self-define ourselves, each person within glueglue has a partially personal vision of the company's identity; therefore, we realized that what we needed was an outside look, and we selected the talented Emanuele Abrate, thanks to whom we were able to turn our visions into reality.

In close collaboration with Emanuele, we translated our ideas and values into a design that reflects the union of different approaches and different skills, which have always characterized our know-how.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Emanuele, the entire glueglue team, and all the people who contributed to this exciting rebranding process. Your support and dedication have been instrumental in bringing this project to fruition.

The new merch is spectacular!

As we know, the best part of any new brand, is not the logo, let alone the design system, but all the outline merchandising that needs to be done to concretize the visual identity of the brand 😍.

In our case, the new visual identity offers us endless possibilities of expression by combining our new shapes and colors; maximum creativity for maximum output!

The new glueglue website

The new visual identity dragged a long line of things to do, and even before thinking about the new corporate t-shirts, or the must-have canvas shoppers, energies were focused on the site...Emanuele's designed identity is best expressed when the graphic elements that compose it are in motion and interact with each other; for this reason in the new site most of the visual components incorporate some form of movement.

The real novelty of the site, however, is that we did not just redo the front-end, but opted for a rebuild from scratch, managing (finally!) to abandon the old Wordpress, to use our beloved Symfony on ourselves as well.

Using a "serious" and structured framework for a showcase site might seem like an overkill, but it has already allowed us (and will allow us in the future) to include particularly clever additional features that would be more cumbersome to manage with a traditional wordpress. In addition, using our know-how on such a technology allows us to have top-notch performance (if we do it for our clients, we should definitely do it for ourselves!).

For those of you who want to learn more about our web development service in Symfony, I recommend throwing a look at our dedicated service.

It hides a headless CMS

However, we are not people who like to re-invent the wheel, and during the planning phase of the case studies (as well as the blog) we paused, before building the traditional admin area for content management: we wanted to experiment with intelligent centralization of content, possibly with a platform that also offered the ability to edit it through a convenient and very fast interface. After a painstaking software selection, we landed on Prismic, and we are really happy with it; we use it to manage case studies, services, and blog articles (like the one you are reading!).

Prismic is a headless CMS, which is a structured content aggregator usable through APIs to build the front-end of third-party sites. Of this category of services there are unlimited alternatives, but Prismic, because of its customizability and brilliant working paradigms (especially its Page Builder) for us beats the competition hands down!

Legacy

With the site assembled, the last thing to do before going online was to create an infrastructure that would maintain compatibility with the old indexed pages, and when possible, link via redirects to the new content home.

These kinds of compatibility tasks are critical in full migrations, as filling the site with 404 errors would have had a severely negative impact on the SEO aspects.

The new brand, and the new site are loaded with meaning for us, both the result of intense teamwork with the heterogeneities and dialogue that this implies.

We welcome with great enthusiasm this new era of glueglue and the future challenges that lie ahead.

Ah, we also have stylish canvas shoppers! 😉

How does glueglue work and what are your areas of expertise?

We start with an in‑depth needs analysis, considering product and business objectives in the medium to long term. We often begin with visual identity: we assess positioning, analyze competitors, and identify opportunities to improve brand and image. We then move to UX/UI: we conduct a professional UX Review to identify areas for intervention and improve the usability of the site or app. We design the User Journey Map, mapping all touchpoints to understand real use cases and where to create tangible value. We create wireframes and share an interactive prototype that defines the functionality, structure, and interactions of each page. Once the wireframes are consolidated, we refine the interface design in detail to ensure a pleasant and consistent experience. Finally, our developers implement the product with modern technologies such as React, Flutter, Symfony, Svelte, Node.js, and more, ensuring quality, stability, and pixel‑perfect results.
