LOUD is an Italian startup in the field of social audio, a platform for sharing short-form recordings. A collaborative podcast dynamically created from app users’ conversations.
We were asked by the LOUD team to collaborate, together with other professionals, on the creation of the social audio platform in all its aspects. In our case we focused in particular on the following activities:
👉 Define the user flows in detail to determine what the distinctive features of the app could be.
👉 Design the user experience for the product that would allow the user to use the app totally personalized, and at the same time simple and intuitive.
👉 Design the user interface, following the branding guidelines delivered to us by the branding team, which combines the innovative and colorful style they propose with our wireframes.
The activities we have carried out have focused in particular on:
First we carried out a UX benchmark research activity, to understand what was the state of the art of the current audio social media applications on the market. In this way we were able to better define the drafting of the user flows at a later stage, with the aim of creating an original and engaging experience, also through completely innovative features, such as the comment section of a post, in which the creator he can decide who to have a conversation with, which everyone will then be able to listen to.
Subsequently, thanks to the results obtained through the first phase, we started the work of organizing and visualizing what is the user experience within the application. Starting from the wireframe we designed the new product structure. In this phase the architecture and the main hierarchy of the elements have been defined. We then shared a fully interactive InVision prototype to simulate the selected use cases.
Once the functional structure of the applications had been defined, we moved on to the creation of the graphical interface. In this phase we collaborated with a team of branding experts, with whom we defined the colors, typography and iconic animated styles for the application. The result is an application with bright tones and liquid shapes. As a stone thrown into the water creates concentric waves, audio published on LOUD can also generate a reaction in the listener.
Working on this project was an extremely interesting and formative test. We were able to collaborate with other industry experts, such as the Mox Consulting, NOku, Andrea Perato and Sergio Savini, and work hand in hand on several parts of the project.
